James G. Human of Tennessee settled at the big spring in 1834 and founded the town, which was named after him.
Humansville, Missouri is a city of about 1,000 people located on Highway 13 between Springfield and Kansas City. It is surrounded by recreational lake areas: Pomme de Terre, Stockton and Truman, that offer good fishing, water sports and all types of wild game.
Health care needs are met locally by a modern, well-equipped clinic, with area hospitals located nearby in Bolivar and Osceola as well as large regional hospitals in Springfield. Two long term care centers provide nursing home services for our elderly and those requiring extended care.
